A Texas transplant, Dr. Alex Dougherty was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. After graduating with a degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University in Utah, Dr. Alex attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio, one of the top-ranked schools in the nation. While in dental school, Dr. Alex received extensive training in cosmetic and implant dentistry and upon graduation was given the Comprehensive Dentistry Award. As a result of his academic achievements in dental school and graduating fourth in his class, Dr. Alex was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, an honor reserved for less than 10 percent of general dentists. Dr. Alex has pursued advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, including smile makeovers with porcelain veneers and aesthetic bonding. His implant expertise ranges from single tooth replacement to complex full arch rehabilitation with implant-supported prosthetics. He is passionate about combining cutting-edge techniques and technology to deliver the highest quality, natural-looking results. By staying at the forefront of dental innovation, Dr. Alex ensures that every patient receives care that is efficient, precise, and tailored to their unique needs. Joining the dental profession has been a plan of his since being a young teenager, because it allows him to combine his passion for connecting with and serving others with his natural draw towards science and art. Dr. Alex is active in the American Dental Association and the Brazos Valley District Dental Society. He loves giving back to the community through volunteering with the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation. The idea of delivering compassion through dentistry has become his personal mission, and he strives towards it daily. Dr. Alex and his wife, Macey, have two young boys, Stephen and Owen. They enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring College Station, and spending time together as a family.
